Psalm 3:3 Shield Prayer
“You, O Lord, are a shield around me.” Father, You circle around her/him. You step into every battle with her/him. You surround her/him with Your presence, Your protection, and Your unfailing love.
Thank You for the comfort of knowing that in her/his most difficult moments, You are with her/him; in her/his most prayerful moments, You are with her/him. You give her/him wisdom, knowledge, understanding, mercy, and grace.
Holy Spirit, thank You for this precious daughter/son You have entrusted to me. She/he is grown now and believes she/he can conquer the world — but it is You who conquers the world for her/him. You have marked her/him, shielded her/him, and assigned angels to guard her/him. You whisper over her/him, “Don’t touch this one — she/he is Mine.”
Thank You for the favor You have poured over her/his life and for the confidence I have as her/his parent, knowing that You will not fail her/him.
You have protected her/his emotions in her/his hardest days. She/he is strong, confident, motivated, and full of purpose. Preserve her/him from trouble, heartache, and every stronghold. Give her/him wisdom in all she/he faces, and peace that is taught by Your Spirit. Open her/his eyes to the wonders of Your secret place.
Your Word says she/he will lie down and sleep in peace because You alone make her/him dwell in safety. Give her/him awareness of this truth. Give her/him a holy fear of You — a reverence that anchors her/him. Even when she/he feels distant, encamp around her/him anyway and deliver her/him from anything that blinds her/him.
You formed her/his being. You knit her/him together in my womb. She/he is fearfully and wonderfully made — the work of Your hands. Guard her/him from harm. Command Your angels concerning her/him. Let no weapon formed against her/him prevail. Strengthen her/him, help her/him, and uphold her/him with Your righteous right hand.
Thank You for blessing her/him and giving me peace as her/his parent. Protect her/him from every spiritual enemy. Guard her/his heart and mind. Teach her/him to seek You with all her/his heart. Let her/his emotional peace be found in You, not in anything else. Guard her/him from anxiety, overstimulation, and fear. Purify her/his heart and cleanse her/his mind from clutter.
Give her/him good friends — but let none become more important than her/his relationship with You. Soften the walls around her/his heart. Break through them with Your love. Give her/him discernment in relationships, friendships, and activities. Anchor her/his emotional well‑being in Your love. Let her/him see herself/himself as a daughter/son of the King of kings, protected by an army of angels.
Keep her/his heart pure, surrendered, and filled with love for You and others. Cause her/him to hunger and thirst for You, because You promise to satisfy those who hunger and thirst. Pour out Your Spirit on her/him. Bring her/him into true salvation and deeper knowledge of You. Guard her/him from idols — friendships, fun, or anything that draws her/him away. Give her/him an insatiable desire for You.
When she/he calls out to You, let her/him discern Your Spirit and know You are near. Let her/him embrace her/his need for You. Fill her/him with grace. Make her/him quick to recognize sin and turn from it. Place within her/him a longing for righteousness. Let her/his words, relationships, and life be an outpouring of Your grace.
Renew her/his strength. Let her/him soar on wings like eagles. Help her/him grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and people. Keep her/him healthy and strong so she/he can walk in the good works You prepared for her/him. Show her/him opportunities to serve others with Your love. Give her/him the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of knowledge. Make her/his mind sharp and her/his spirit discerning. Preserve her/his innocence and integrity.
Protect her/him from the enemy. Hide her/him under the shadow of Your wings. Guard her/him from anyone who would harm or use her/him. Keep her/him steadfast until she/he meets a godly husband/wife who will love her/him with purity and honor. Let her/his future marriage reflect Your relationship with the Church.
Give her/him boldness, self‑discipline, and holy conviction. Let nothing move her/him. Help her/him stand firm in her/his identity in You. When she/he looks in the mirror, let her/him see both her/his outer beauty and the inner beauty of Your workmanship. Clothe her/him with strength and dignity. Fill her/him with joyful hope for her/his future.
May her/his character be Christ‑centered, gentle in spirit, and quietly strong. Let her/his face radiate the beauty of dwelling in Your presence. Make her/him a fragrance of Christ among those who do not yet know You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
